Ready, Click, Advance

A large group of participants, the majority of which were women, attended four sessions of our workshop: Ready, Click, Advance. These sessions were designed to provide guidance on how to use one’s phone to manage personal finances online. None of the participants had any previous experience using their phones for banking purposes and all of them had some degree of fright, reluctance, and skepticism at the beginning due to security concerns and lack of technological knowledge. Over the course of the four sessions, they learned security practices, the benefits of online banking, and most importantly, how to manage their money and avoid fees. By the end of the workshop, all of them learned how to download their bank application and how to use it. Ultimately, they each stated that they lost their fear and that they gained independence by mastering how to manage their bank account with their smart phone.
